Website Strategy for Birth & Postpartum Professionals

I was a doula for 20+ years before I ever built a website.

That changes everything about how I approach yours.

For over 15 years, I've helped birth professionals — independent doulas, midwives, agencies, and birth centers — build websites that actually bring in clients. I've launched hundreds of custom websites, watched solo practitioners grow into agencies leading teams of 20, and developed a diagnostic framework for spotting exactly what's keeping YOUR birth and postpartum services website from attracting great clients.

Most of my clients come to me because something isn't working and they can't figure out what. That's the part I love most, and it's exactly what I'm here to help you discover.

Hi, my name is Sarah Juliusson (she/her), also known as The Website Doula.

Before I ever built a website professionally (15 years ago!), I spent over 20 years as a birth doula, childbirth educator, and apprentice midwife. I began as a doula in 1992 before DONA was even formed! Plus, I have a Masters in Perinatal Nursing. If you do the math, that means I’ve been in the birth world for 35+ years!

Unlike designers who treat birth work like any other niche, I come to your website already fluent in your world — the language of your work, the trust you need to build with potential clients, and the specific worries that brought them to your site in the first place. With over three decades of experience in website design & strategy, I know what works for birth and postpartum professionals, and what doesn't.

With over 350+ site strategy & design projects completed, I have developed the Overdue Website Audit — a diagnostic framework for identifying exactly what's keeping your birth or postpartum services website from bringing in clients. Tip: Most of the time, it's not the design. It's the strategy underneath it.
